Dr Dov Hersh is a highly qualified, professional and caring ophthalmologist with sub-specialty training in medical retina.
After completing specialist qualification in Australia (FRANZCO), Dr Hersh undertook a further 2.5 years of sub-specialty training in medical retina at two of Europe’s premiere eye institutions, Bristol Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. During his fellowship Dr Hersh trained with pioneers in the field. He is particularly interested in the management of macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and retinal vein occlusions. Dr Hersh is also fellowship trained in comprehensive oculoplastics.
Having been an investigator in multiple phase II/III multi-national clinical trials studying new treatments, Dr Hersh keeps up-to-date with the latest advances. Similarly, he has published research papers in peer-reviewed journals and has presented lectures in Australia and internationally.
Prior to his medical career Dov gained a B.Com, specialising in IT. As a medical student he established telemedicine projects in developing countries. In recognition of his effort Dr Hersh was nominated by colleagues and was awarded semi-finalist for young Australian of the Year.
Dr Hersh understands the importance of listening to his patients needs and takes pride in keeping up-to-date with the evidence and latest advances in ophthalmology so he can tailor management to each patient.
